Hey family! How are you all doing this week?
I loved the pictures you
sent. It seems like everyone is doing well
and had a great weekend
being together as a family. That is so
awesome little Kate was
blessed. I bet Dan did such a great job. He
is the man! She looked
like a little angel. She is a little cutie.
I for sure have the cutest
nieces and nephews! Tell Jason good job in
Basketball for this season.
He is going to do great next year as well.
Tell Jane not to be
nervous. It is the best thing ever! Missions
honestly are the greatest
things ever. They are hard, but so
rewarding. Mom and Dad it sounds
like you both are having a good time down in
Vegas. Don't party too
hard! ;) Just kidding. Well you all are
awesome! It sounds like the
house is moving along great. I love the idea
of switching the pool
around. I am excited to see it! Well keep up
the great work back home!
Well now for my eventful and exciting week.
First off... Elder Gosch
and I both got really sick on different
days... Elder Gosch was out
all day Wednesday and I was out all day
yesterday. We both have some
sort of stomach virus. It is going around
like crazy. I feel much
better today though. But one cool thing I
learned this week is the
Lord he provides a way no matter what. So on
Wednesday we were
scheduled to go to Natchez Mississippi to do
exchanges with them. Well
instead I had to take our district leader
and leave his companion with
Elder Gosch to help him feel better. So we
did a mini exchange with
them for the day and double worked their
area. It was pretty cool
being out their. I liked it! Then about half
way through the day I
started feeling bad. So we ended our
exchange and both Elder Gosch and
I were out for the remainder of that day.
On Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
we had some great days! We
taught a bunch of lessons to our
investigators and new investigators.
We did a TON of tracting and had a TON of
doors slammed in our face.
But thru it all we found a new person. It is
funny, but sometimes the
Lord doesn't bless you with new people to
teach from tracting, but
since we do it and He sees it he just sends
new people to us. Like
last night we went out to our investigator
G. house. He had 2 friends
there that are way interested so we found 2
new investigators when we
didn't find any from tracting. So sometimes
He gives us a thing to do
and if we do it then He will bless us thru
other ways. It was really
cool.
This week we ate some Deer Jambalaya at a
less active families house.
Then we had an awesome experience of having
them come to the church in
which they haven't been in a really long
time. On Saturday there was a
baptism and we invited them to come to that.
And they came and loved
it! The only sad thing is they didn't come
to church the following
day, but that is alright. We know they felt
the Spirit at the Baptism.
So something really funny happened at the
Baptism. First off it was
the sister missionaries baptism so they set
everything up. Well the
meeting was going great and we all heard a
little noise coming from
the font, but we didn't think anything of
it. We thought it was the
fan going. Well it was time for the baptism
and we opened up the
curtain and guess what.... The water was
almost completely emptied..
The sisters faces went blank! It was
hilarious! So we turned the water
on and while it filled up we flipped on a
Mormon Message. It was the
one from Gordon B Hinckley talking about two
young boys walking by a
field and they come to a pair of old shoes
that belong to a poor
farmer out in the field. the younger one
wanted to hide them and watch
his reaction, but the older one said they
should leave some money in
each shoe since they could tell he was poor.
So they did just that and
went and hid and watched as he came back and
put the shoes on. To his
surprise he found the money. He started to
cry and turned to God in
Prayer and thanked him and expressed how his
family is going hungry
because he doesn't have enough money to buy
food for them. It was an
awesome message of doing little random acts
of service for others and
not making them known. Well it was meant to
be to have the font drain
because it brought a new Spirit to the
meeting. There were a lot of
investigators there and non-members. It was
such a cool experience.
Then Sunday I honestly felt like if it
werent for the missionaries up
here this church wouldn't be able to
function. First off I woke up and
felt so sick.. I decided to still fast
though because I thought I
would be blessed for it. I know I was. Well
we got to church and they
had Elder Gosch and and I do the opening and
closing prayers for
Sacrament. Then we blessed the Sacrament.
After which we found out the
Gospel Principles teacher wasn't going to be
there so we taught that.
Then to top it off....... They had us teach
Relief Society! I won't
lie... It was awkward haha We taught about
missionary work and it went
really good. I think we got some new
motivation for the ward. This
ward is pretty good with missionary work. We
had a member invite a
friend to come to the baptism and she did.
So it was awesome. So after
church we went home and I wasn't feeling
good at all. Lets just say my
insides wanted to be on my outsides haha. So
I crashed for an hour and
then did some studies. By 6 I still wasn't
feeling good at all, but I
just had a feeling to get out of the house.
So we did and that is when
we went to Gregs house and found 2 new
investigators. So the Lord
works in mysterious ways, but in the end it
is so worth it. I know he
blesses us for hard things we do and also
for following his example. I
know that when we don't follow his example
we don't get the blessings.
So lets all follow his example and get the
blessings!!! :)
Well that about wraps up my week. It was a
really good one! I feel a
little better today so hopefully this next
week will be as good as
last week! I hope you all have a great week
as well! I will try my
best to do the D&C challenge. That is
going to be way fun! It is crazy
how fast time flies. Well I love you and God
be with you all this next
week! See ya Later!
